It's Finally Payday
I'm currently running on a combination of caffeine, ignorance and meanness.
It's finally payday and it's been a long old month, tomorrow after work I'm taking my self out for an evening of street food, craft beer and maybe a little bit of a dance (not that I actually can). To balance that out, and partially (mostly) because I was totally broke when I did my food shopping, I've spent the last couple of days living on a daily intake of about 1000 calories and it's really starting to show in my mood and general mental state.
Over the last year or so my general daily intake has been around the 1500 mark and, although it took some getting used to, I've managed fairly well on that, without experiencing any real hunger issues or lack of energy. Right now it's about 15:30, I've consumed approximately 400 calories so far today, I have 2 hours before my next snack, another 2 after that before my main meal and my head is really starting to swim.
Cutting out that additional 500 calories is not something I'd recommend and I will not be doing it again, if I can help it.

Bank Holiday Day Tripping
It was a three day weekend so I decided to head off out, it turned out to be a bit of a mistake. It was far too hot, far too bright and I was wearing far too much black (is there really such a thing as too much black?) to be even remotely comfortable. In fact it was so hot it started to make my bag a little bit melty.

A Steak And Cheese Based Pick Me Up
Is it bad that the only thing keeping my head straight is thinking about a little bit of foodie filth from the weekend? I made a thoroughly awesome, if I do say so myself, steak and cheese sandwich with rosemary salted oven chips, grilled mushrooms and onions and a heavily buttered corn on the cob on the side.
I Am Not Good At Mondays
Yesterday was thoroughly shitty, work was horrendously busy, every time I tried to settle in and concentrate on a job someone would bother me and it would take forever to get back on track. Basically I got nothing done and felt like, if anything, I'd set myself back a day rather than making any actual progress.
I got back last night feeling mentally and emotionally dead on my feet, all I wanted to do was collapse on my bed and let the oblivion of sleep take me away. Instead of just giving up, I sucked it up, actually managed to feed myself, got my daily chores done and even took myself out for a walk. I took myself out into some woodland near where I live to clear my head and chill out a little, I’m not sure if it really worked, but today’s a different day so all I can really do is start over and keep going.

I Chose Completely The Wrong Moment To Leave The Office
I chose completely the wrong moment to leave the office and head out to the yard on Friday afternoon. As I was heading back to the office the heavens literally opened and I got soaked to my skin in about 20 seconds, I have not seen rain like this in ages. I usually love the wind and rain, but not so much when I know that I’ve got to sit on sodden clothing for the next 2/3 hours.

Day Tripping - The Black Country Living Museum
I don’t often go out, this is equally to do with my own hermit like nature as it is my inadequacy to function as a well rounded adult, however, I recently decided to take a day trip to the Black Country Living Museum and, to be honest, I had a really good time. I found the exhibitions to be extremely interesting, well researched and the staff to be quite knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter. I’ve always found history to be an important subject and it’s awesome to see it brought to life in such an engaging and interactive manner. There’s such a wide range of subjects covered, from beautifully restored classic cars to a mockup of an early 20th century mine, that it’s quite easy to spend a full day there without getting bored or running out of things to see and do. As with several other tourist attractions throughout the UK, buying a ticket entitles you to a free return visit at any point over the next year and I’m actually quite looking forward to taking advantage of this by visiting on one of the many themed weekends they organise. I enjoyed myself that much I even felt the need to purchase souvenirs and got myself a new peaky blinders themed hat and an old school bag of marbles (who doesn’t love marbles?). I even felt the need to splash out on a portion of fish and chips, cooked in the traditional method using beef dripping instead of oil.
